How Clean Whey Works

Protein residue behaves differently to everyday food. Once it dries inside plastic, it bonds to surfaces, hides in seals, and feeds bacteria that normal washing doesn’t fully remove.

Clean Whey is made specifically for protein shakers — either preventing odour from developing or restoring shakers that have been neglected. It targets the residue and bacteria that cause the stubborn smell.

When To Use Each Method

Everyday Clean

Designed for regular use to keep shakers neutral and odour-free.

Use this when:

  • Your shaker is used regularly
  • It’s starting to smell
  • You want to prevent buildup

Shock Clean

Designed for shakers that have been neglected or left unwashed.

Use this when:

  • The smell returns immediately after washing
  • The lid or seal holds odour
  • Shaker or bottle has been left longer than a week

Instructions

Everyday Clean

1. Rinse first

Empty shaker and rinse away any heavy residue.

2. Fill & drop tablet

Add 250 mL warm water (50–60 °C) to the shaker. Drop in 1 tablet, close lid, and shake for 1 minute.

3. Soak briefly

Leave the solution in the shaker for 1–2 minutes to deodorise and sanitise.

4. Rinse thoroughly

Empty solution and rinse shaker well with warm water.

5. Air dry

Leave shaker open to dry fully before reassembling.

Shock method

1. Rinse first

Empty shaker and rinse away any heavy residue.

2. Fill & drop tablets

Add 500 mL warm water (50–60 °C) to the shaker. Drop in 2 tablets, close lid, and shake for 1 minute.

3. Soak inside

Stand shaker upright for 15 minutes, then flip upside down on its lid for another 15 minutes to reach lid grooves and threads.

4. Disassemble & soak outside

Remove lid, seals, and strainer. Place all parts in a bowl of the solution so the outside screw track, base, and hidden spots are covered. Soak for 10–15 minutes.

5. Final rinse & dry

Empty, rinse again, and leave all parts apart to air dry before reassembling.
